Sam Stonkus brings more than 30 years of hands-on electrical experience to Kilowatt Electric. He began working in the electrical trade in South Florida at age 16, learning the importance of resilience, precision and doing the job correctly from experienced journeymen.
His early career was rooted in the fueling industry. By age 18, Sam was overseeing his first gas-station electrical project, including convenience-store wiring and electrical work associated with fuel pumps and storage systems. He went on to manage crews and complete increasingly complex fueling and infrastructure projects.
Sam’s experience later included Department of Defense fueling facilities, bulk-fuel storage systems, municipal lift stations, water-treatment infrastructure and custom residential electrical projects. That broad background allows him to understand the demands of residential, commercial and industrial electrical systems while helping customers find practical, reliable solutions.
After relocating to Western North Carolina, Sam founded Kilowatt Electric on word-of-mouth recommendations, quality workmanship and customer trust. What began as a very small operation has grown into a team of more than 10 employees serving homes, businesses, contractors, industrial facilities, gas stations and convenience stores throughout the region.
